Siamese Cat Joint Advisory Committee Seminar 2010

On the 15th August 2010 the Siamese Cat Joint Advisory Committee held a seminar on colour. This was held in North Yorkshire and what a fantastic event it proved to be! With nineteen beautiful cats, kittens and neuters in attendance and almost seventy participants the day was without doubt very popular and very well attended. The judges in attendance were Norma Farnsworth, Sheila Hamilton, Di Brown, Craig Dryden, Harry Meekings, Bruce Bennett and Janet Starr.

Our seven judges described to the breeders and judging candidates the finer points of colour and this proved to be very informative. The seminar was a wonderful opportunity to learn from our judges and also to have hands on contact with all the cats in attendance and to freely ask for advice from our judges. All questions were welcomed by our judges from breeders of varying experience with a variety of discussions ensued.

The day was filled with beautiful cats, friendly discussion and an abundance of smiles and laughter. A thoroughly enjoyable day and an event to be anticipated for the future. Siamese Cat Breeder would urge any serious Siamese Cat Breeder to attend future seminars, the seminars are not just for our judging candidates they are also an amazing opportunity to learn about our chosen breed.

What a wonderful atmosphere the day had with nothing being too much trouble for Marion and her team. Our wonderful lunch was well appreciated by all. On behalf of the Siamese Joint Advisory Committee I would like to thank everyone who made yesterday’s seminar at Boroughbridge such a tremendous success. We had almost seventy participants including seven GCCF judges. Twenty one cats were entered and nineteen made it on the day. The topic for the seminar was colour and there were, as we expected many lively discussions, particularly about the reds, creams apricots and of course the caramels. Four candidates in the GCCF scheme were there and I hope they found the day interesting and the Siamese fraternity welcoming. Seven table stewards made sure the sessions ran like clockwork and the team in the kitchen provided a beautiful hot lunch followed by a delicious cream tea.
