So would you like to spend a fun day out with like-minded people and learn all about Siamese cats from some of the top judges in the UK?
Seal point Siamese cats introduced by GCCF Siamese cat judge, Mrs N Farnsworth.
When Siamese cats were introduced to this country in the eighteen hundreds they were mainly seal points. There were a lot of romantic stories that they travelled the Silk Road with merchants of the time and as such were regarded as exotic and, to this day, if you asked a man in the street to describe a Siamese cat he would, nine times out of ten, describe a seal point. What makes seal point Siamese cats so easily recognisable is the contrast between the ‘points’ and the body colour.
As it’s name suggests the seal point has warm seal brown contrast on the ‘points’ which are the ears, face mask, legs and tail whilst the body is a warm cream with a tendency to manifest darker shading as the cat ages. The other outstanding feature of seal point Siamese cats is the eye colour which is a deep sapphire blue. As an instantly recognisable pet and a faithful friend a seal point Siamese is hard to beat.
Seal point Siamese cats are surely the most well know colour of Siamese cat. We have included different seal point Siamese pictures on this page to show various cats of the same colour. Though all the pictures are of seal point, you will probably notice some differences in coat colour and also the different type. Some of the seal point Siamese that we have used as examples are of the older more moderate type and some of the modern type. Interestingly the breed standard has hardly changed.
Seal point Siamese cats have a dark brown almost black face, tail and legs. Their bodies are cream in colour and may display varying degrees of tonal shading on the flanks and back. Like all Siamese cats they have blue eyes. Seal points usually have very intense and deep blue eyes. The coat texture is fine.
