Dr B Bennett Three Counties Critiques 2015

This well run Show had a really happy atmosphere all day. Thanks and congratulations to Julie, Sheila and Ivor on realizing yet another splendid event and a big thankyou for the invitation. Irene Roos stewarded for me once again and as usual was a tower of strength as well as a good companion throughout; I look forward to our next cooperative effort Irene.  I was privileged to judge the Best in Show event and met therein seven wonderful examples of their respective breed groups, but had no hesitation in selecting a truly superb Ragamuffin,  Camilleri’s CHEHAM MASTERCHESTER, of outstanding type, magnificent coat and quite superb poise and insouciance; it was an especial pleasure to make this award so soon after the breed’s elevation to Championship status; congratulations to all concerned. And a by-the-way comment; not only were the cats of exceptional quality at this show; but there were some simply cracking names for many of them in addition; well done the choosers!

AC ORIENTAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE.

IMP GR CC TO SINGLE’S GR CH SINOPE SAKARAT. F. (OSH n ) 1 yr 5 mths. I loved this young lady’s wicked look. She is dainty and elegant with a very good even sided wedge head adorned by ears of becoming size and lovely flare; eyes are inclined, of good green and scowl magnificently. Profile arches smoothly, chin lines up and has depth, incisors just meeting. Body slender and lithe, spidery limbs with super lengthy tail to enhance it all. Glamorous close fitting sound black, gleaming  coat completes the picture.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE GR PR NEUTER MALE

A close run thing between two very different cats,  IMP GR PC to WALLACE’S GR PR JOHPAS IN THE RED. MN (SIA d )  3 yr 10 mth, This boy’s head has for me the best balance, a wonderful, even sided triangle with entrancing set and flare to the large ears, beautiful blue inclined eyes with a dreamy look, strong straight profile, superb depth of muzzle, aligned chin and level bite. Strong masculine body, matching limbs, tail could be a smidge longer for perfection. Coat  of good texture, marginally long, beautiful soft red points  with lovely contrast from the warm white body. Came into his own once out of the pen. RES IMP GR PC to NANT’S GR PR  KAMIK HEIR TO THE THRONE, 2 yr 3 mth, This boy has a lengthy elegant wedge head with ears of good size following the lines well, inclined oriental eyes of good blue shade, arched profile, chin curves  away gently, incisors just meeting. Lengthy body, matching limbs, neat, unmanicured paws and lengthy tail.  Super sleek close coat with bright red points, warm white body for good contrast.

AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION FEMALE.

GR CC to WRIGHT’S  CH COCOBA FLUTTERBY BUTTERFLY FN. (OSH a 03 33) 2 yr 3 wk. Blue Pointed Bicolour Oriental. Very smart lady with a head showing elegant lines, ears of good size in very good alignment, eyes of almond shape, well inclined, and with depth of blue. Superior gently curving profile, aligned chin of fair depth, very irregular incisors but on average they meet.  Well balanced body, limbs and tail. Darkish blue pointed coat with bright whites correctly distributed and in sufficient quantity, on all four limbs, mask, shoulders and down underparts.

AC ORIENTAL PREMIER MALE,

GR PC to OMASTA ‘S PR BUDDY’S WALKING ON SUNSHINE, MN, (OSH em)1 yr 5 mth, Oriental Apricot. Long even head, sporting large, well set ears, inclined oriental eyes of olive green, with a languid look. Profile just angled at the brow, straight above and below this, well aligned chin and level bite. Long firm body, balancing limbs and tail. Excellent coat, short and close with very good evenly distributed apricot tone to it. Tendency to the profane.

ORIENTAL BLACK ADULT.

BoB SINGLE’S GR CH SINOPE SAKARAT. F. (OSH n) 1 yr 5 mth. (See above)

ORIENTAL CINNAMON ADULT.

1, CC Withheld.  MAY’S BUURAPHAA AUTUMN’S BREEZE. F. (OSH k) 9 mth 3 wk. A very attractive young lady with a triangular face,, tiniest pinch at present, eyes of very pleasing green, perhaps just a little open, lovely large ears set well in line. Elegant adolescent body with slender limbs neat paws and tail to match. Coat of good texture, sound, slightly dark cinnamon, typically a little uneven in tone across the back.  I was sorry to have to withhold but in profile she still shows a significant forehead depression.

ORIENTAL SPOTTED TABBY MALE,

BoB BROWN’S I GR CH HEMLOCK SPOTTY MULDOON. M. (OSH n 24) 1 yr 5 mth. Looking as devilishly handsome as ever, magnificent type, magnificent strength and masculinity, magnificent clear sound body spotting against a slightly dull background shade,, magnificent calm and collected show temperament and just a couple of fairly recent war wounds over his shoulders. Provided very powerful competition at the Best in Show event.

ORIENTAL DICOLOR ADULT.

BoB  WRIGHT;S CH COCOBA FLUTTERBY BUTTERFLY. F. (OSH a 03 33) 2 yr 3 wk. (See above)

ORIENTAL BLUE KITTEN.

1 BoB BUDDEN’S COSMO FAETON. M. (OSH a) 4 mth 3 wk..  Such a handsome and endearing baby, all the way from Russia I learned later. Sweet little wedge showing a tiny kitten pinch at present, adorned by huge ears flaring wide and low ready for gliding, Eyes show good green shade and the beginnings of an adult threat to their expression that is so beguiling. Excellent smooth profile, just convex and no more, muzzle at present rather shallow with chin sloping back, bite meets.  Slender little body, sternum feeling a little straight rather than the convex curve that is more usual (checked by the DVS), slender limbs deployed all over the place, tail balancing.. Excellent length and texture to his sound, slightly dark blue coat. Shall watch his development with interest.

ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT KITTEN.

1 BoB. MANSARAY’S ALDERSTAR BAT FINK. M. (OSH  em) 3 mth 4 wk. Another lovely mite, cheeky as a bug in a rug. Very good even, triangular wedge already, with large ears set and flared nicely in line, oriental eyes of good green tone. Straight profile, muzzle has commendable masculine depth, chin lines up, needle teeth aligned.  Body, limbs and tail all in balance. Lovely apricot shade to his coat, that shows permitted tabby features. Great name.

ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT NEUTER.

SEAL POINT SIAMESE ADULT.

1 CC, BoB. MARTIN’S FLOWERDEW AGNETHA F. (SIA n) 2 yr 2 wk. Lengthy and distinguished lady. Long wedge head, showing a pinch, and sporting large flaring ears , blue oriental eyes haws just a little over on the day. Profile a smooth convex arch, muzzle could be a little deeper, level bite. Very good long, firm body  with long slender limbs and a whip that goes on into the next postal zone.  Close coat, body now rather shady but sufficient contrast to the matched seal points, some brindling present especially around the eyes but it hardly detracts.

TABBY POINT SIAMESE KITTEN.

1 BoB BUDDEN’S BUDDY’S BE-BOP-A-LULA. F. (SIA f 21) 5 mth 4 wk. Indeed! Be my baby!! Sweet little one with a baby wedge adorned by large, widely flaring ears, and oriental eyes of deepest blue. Straight profile, commendable depth of muzzle, aligned chin, level bite. Neat little body, matching limbs and tail. Seal tabby features, back of ears showing mottling that has just a little warmth at present, all four limbs showing breaks that are so pale that they demand a close search, little obvious as yet on mask or tail. Body contrasts well.

AC ORIENTAL BREEDER’S SELF ADULT.

1 SINGLE’S GR CH SINOPE SAKARAT. F. (OSH n) 1 yr 5 mth. 2. MAY’S BUURAPHAA AUTUMN’S BREEZE. F. (OSH o) 9 mth 3 wk.

AC ORIENTAL BREEDER’S NON SELF ADULT.

1 BROWN’S I GR CH HEMLOCK SPOTTY MULDOON. M. (OSH n 24) 1 yr 5 mth. (See above)

AC ORIENTAL JUNIOR ADULT.

1 SINGLE’S GR CH SINOPE SAKARAT. F. (OSH n) 1 yr 5 mth. (See above)

AC ORIENTAL ADOLESCENT NEUTER.

1 BROOKES’ DERRYLEON TEAZAS-DARKNIGHT. MN. (OSH n) 11 mth 2 wk. Handsome youth. Good overall type, eyes of green, just a little open, but he was a mite discombobulated by all the goings on. Coat marginally long, excellent texture, unsullied jet black.

AC ORIENTAL VISITOR’S NEUTER.

1  BROOKES’ DERRYLEON TEAZAS-DARKNIGHT. MN. (OSH n) 11 mth 2 wk. (As above)

AC SENIOR SIAMESE ADULT.

1 MARTIN’S FLOWERDEW AGNETHA. F. (SIA n) 2 yr 2 wk. (See above)

SEAL OR BLUE POINT KITTEN.

1 MARTIN’S ABICASA ALLEGRA. F. (SIA n) 5 mth 4 wk. Very pleasing young lady, very good sound type all round, well proportioned head and ears, oriental shape and set to eyes with depth of blue. Firm body, balancing limbs and tail. Coat close and smooth, body showing little shading as yet so attractive contrast.

AC KITTEN 14 WKS – 6 MTHS.

1 BUDDEN’S BUDDY BE-BOP-A-LULA. F. (SIA f 21) 5 mth 4 wk. (See above)

AC SIAMESE NON BREEDER’S ADULT.

1. WALLACE’S GR PR JOHPAS IN THE RED. MN. (SIA d)  3 yr 10 mth.  2. EMMENS’ I GR PR SPICESIAM COOL HAND LUKE. MN. (SIA d) 2 yr 2 mth. Another gorgeous red point; this guy has a stupendous topline, mesmerizing oriental eyes of deep blue as did the winner;  his profile shows the merest dent at the bridge and the muzzle is marginally less strong, so though his coat length was better these relatively minor features made the difference; he was curiously reticent today, unlike the extravagantly affectionate individual of previous meetings.
