Mr R Davies Lilac Point Critiques 2015

Many thanks to Barbie James and the committee of the Lilac Point Siamese Cat Society for the kind invitation to judge at their show this year. A lovely friendly show with some excellent cats and kittens. Assisted on the day by my friend Siobhan Burnett who worked hard all day, handled the cats with care and expertise and was also excellent company.

CLASS 17 – Seal Point Adult

BOB – 6 Simpson’s Drestothril Dodinsky (SIA n) M 3y 1m – Seal boy of good type. Broad head with large ears that are set in line with his even wedge. Profile shows a small dip below the brow. Chin has good depth and the bite is level, all incisors missing. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a brilliant blue of acceptable depth. Long neck, body also long but needing more substance, tall legs and neat oval feet. His tail is long and tapered. Dense warm seal brown matching points colour with the body being cream and virtually unshaded. Coat is slightly long, lies close to the body and is slightly coarse in texture along the back. Excellent temperament.

CLASS 84 – Oriental Spotted Tabby Kitten

1st BOB – 37 Brownrigg’s Hemlock Hudson Mohawk (OSH n 24) M 5m 3w – Huge kitten of very good type. Broad head with large ears set in line with his even wedge. Profile is straight and he has a strong chin with a level bite. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being mid green. A very well grown muscular boy with a long neck, long muscular body, tall legs and neat oval feet. His tail is long and tapered. Tabby markings are jet black and sound to the root. The ground colour is brown and is showing some warmth. Two broken necklaces to neck, M to forehead that travels over the back of the head and breaks into spots over the neck and shoulders. Spine line is showing clear evidence of breaking into spots. Evenly distributed round spots to body showing some minimal agouti invasion. Short coat that lies close to the body and is fine in texture. Excellent temperament and condition. Presented to perfection.

CLASS 107 – Male Adults

1st – 14 Miller’s IGC Mafdet Quicksilver (SIA n 21) M 1y 11m – Seal tabby boy of excellent type. Broad head with large ears that are held low until relaxed where they then fall into line with his even wedge. Profile is straight and he has a firm chin and scissor bite which is untidy. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a brilliant blue of good depth. Long neck, muscular body, tall legs and neat oval shape feet. His tail is long and tapered. Tabby markings are seal brown with M to forehead, cheek ribbons, thumb prints to ears, bracelets to legs and tail showing rings to over half the length. Body is cream and shows some light tonal shading. Coat is short, close lying and is fine in texture. Excellent temperament and presentation. Super boy!

2nd – 19 Richards’ Ch Mafdet Debikat Maserati (SIA d) M 1y 2m – see Chocolate Pointed class 336

CLASS 111 – Breeder AC 32 Ex Balinese Adults

1st – 12 Baughan’s Mapu Prince George (SIA m 21) M 2y – Lilac base caramel tabby boy of good type. Head needs a touch more width and his large ears are set almost in line with his even wedge. The profile is straight and he has a firm chin with a level bite. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a brilliant blue of acceptable depth. Not the largest of boys he has a fine neck, long body, slender legs and neat oval feet. The tail is long and tapered. Brownish grey tabby markings with M to forehead, cheek ribbons, thumb prints to ears just visible, paler bracelets to legs and his tail showing rings to over half the length. Body is off white and shows minimal tonal shading. Coat is short, close lying and fine in texture. A little bit unhappy to be handled today but he begrudgingly put up with it.

CLASS 117 – Non Breeders AC Siamese (Ex Lilac) Adults

1st – 14 Miller’s IGC Mafdet Quicksilver (SIA n 21) M 1y 11m – see class 107

2nd – 13 Hargan’s Ch Jakurtzzi The Apprentice (SIA m 21) M 1y 8m – Large blue base caramel tabby boy of good type. Broad head with large ears that are set in line with his pinched wedge. Straight profile, fair depth to chin and he has a level bite which is tidy. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a brilliant blue of excellent depth. Good size to this boy who has a long neck and powerful body, his legs are tall and he has neat oval feet. The tail is long and tapered. Clear dark brownish blue tabby markings with M to forehead, cheek ribbons, thumb prints to ears, bracelets to legs and his tail shows rings to over two thirds the length. Body is of white with some slight tonal shading to his back. Coat is short, lies close to the body and is fine in texture. Lovely temperament and condition.

3rd – 19 Richards’ Ch Mafdet Debikat Maserati (SIA d) M 1y 2m – see Chocolate Pointed class 336

CLASS 126 – Limit Adults

1st – 45 Carter’s Athelstan Arkhamknight (OSH ns) M 10m 1w – Young black smoke boy of good type. Head shows good width and he has large ears that are set just in line with his even wedge. Profile is straight and he has a firm chin with a level bite. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a pleasing deep green.  Well grown boy with long neck and body, tall legs with neat oval feet and his tail is long and tapered. His coat is jet black to the surface hiding a near-white undercoat that travels up half the length of the hair shaft. The coat is short, lies close to the body and if fine in texture. Excellent temperament and condition.

CLASS 111 – Breeder AC 32 Ex Balinese Adults

1st – 6 Simpson’s Drestothril Dodinsky (SIA n) M 3y 1m – See class 17

CLASS 185 – Zodiac Class: Virgo, Libra, Scorpio & Sagittarius Adult

1st – 3 Tobias’ Flutterby First-Love (SIA c) F 10m 1w – Young lilac point girl of very good type. Good width to head with large ears that are set in line with her slightly pinched wedge. Straight profile, good depth to chin and her bite is level. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being a clear vivid blue of good depth. Medium for size she has a slender neck, long body, tall legs and neat oval feet. Her tail is long and tapered. Points are an almost matching dark grey colour with the legs being a slightly lighter shade of grey. Body is magnolia and free from shading. Coat is slightly long, lies close to the body and is fine in texture. Excellent temperament and condition.

CLASS 145 – Non Breeders Oriental SH Kitten

1st – 47 Edwards’ Hemlock Slinky Malinki (OSH b 03 24) M 5m 2w –  see Chocolate Pointed class 400

CLASS 152 – Limit Kitten

1st – 1 Hargan’s Mafdet Mungo Jerry (SIA b) M 6m 1w – see Chocolate Pointed class 429

CLASS 157 – Neuter

1st – 39 Edwards’ IGP Hemlock Alfredo Ferrari (OSH b 24) MN 1y 7m – Chocolate spotted boy of excellent type with real show presence. Broad head with large ears that are set in line with his even wedge. Profile shows good depth and is straight. His chin is firm, shows very good depth and lines up well. Bite is level and tidy. Oriental eye shape and set with the colour being bright green showing good depth. Large boy who shows excellent muscle tone to his long svelte body. His neck is long and elegant which he uses to his advantage. Tall legs and neat oval feet. His tail is long and tapered and balances him well. Tabby markings are a rich warm chestnut brown and are sound to the root. Ground colour is a warm bronze. Two broken necklaces to neck, single cheek ribbons, M to forehead that travels over the back of the head breaking into spots over the neck and shoulders. Spine line is broken into spots. Round spots to body are evenly distributed and show minimal agouti invasion. Coat is short, close lying and fine and silky in texture. Superb temperament and condition.

2nd – 11 Clayden’s Gr Pr Mafdet Mister Titian (SIA m) MN 2y 7m – Blue base caramel boy of very good type. Good width to head with large ears that are set in line with his slightly pinched wedge. Slight depression above the brow to his otherwise straight profile. Firm chin and a level bite which is tidy. Oriental eye shape and set, hold them slightly full when out of the pen, the colour being a brilliant blue of acceptable depth. Long neck and body, tall legs and neat oval feet. His tail is long and tapered. Points are a matching dark brownish blue and his body is off white with extensive tonal shading to back and flanks. Short coat which lies close to the body and is fine in texture. Temperament and presentation both excellent.

CLASS 172 – Visitors Neuter

1st – 30 Edwards’ Pr Hemlock Avantdour (OSH b) MN 1y 7m – see Chocolate Pointed class 468

2nd – 43 Smith’s Pr Loricha Mjolnir (OSH ns 25) MN 1y 7m – Black silver ticked boy of very good type. Broad head with large ears set in line with his slightly pinched wedge. Profile almost straight with a slight depression just above the brow. His chin is firm and he has a level bite. Large boy with long neck, well muscled body and tall legs. His tail is long and tapers. Black tabby markings with M to forehead, single cheek ribbons, double broken necklaces and tail showing rings the entire length. Coat is evenly ticked with two bands of ticking with a clear silver ground to half the hair length. Coat is short, close lying and fine in texture. Excellent presentation and condition. Lovely boy.

3rd – 21 Chandler’s Gr Pr Johpas Petit Bisous (SIA d) MN 1y 4m – see class Chocolate Pointed 338

CLASS 179 – Senior Neuter

1st – 31 Miller’s IGC Pashtan Rhapsody (OSH b) FN 3y – Very good balanced type to this girl. Head shows good with and her large ears are set I line with her even wedge. Profile is almost straight with justa  small depression above the brow. She has a very firm chin and a level bite with all incisors now missing. Eye shape and set are both oriental and the colour being a clear bright green that for perfection could be deeper. Long neck and body, fine legs and neat oval feet. Her tail is long and tapered. Coat is a rich warm chestnut brown, slightly unsound and with scattered white hairs under her arms, around her neck and also to her groin. Coat is short close lying and is fine in texture. Temperament excellent.

2nd – 4 Ridgeway’s Gr Pr Hartzie Baxter (SIA c) MN 3y 1m – Even type to this friendly boy. Head shows good width, ears are set in line with his medium length even wedge. Straight profile and a firm chin with a level bite. Clear blue eye colour of good depth with the set and shape both being oriental. Short neck, medium length well fed body, sturdy legs and neat oval feet. His tail is slightly fat but is of balancing length and does show some taper. Points are a matching slightly dark grey. His body is magnolia and is virtually free from shading. Coat is slightly long but lies close to the body and is fine in texture. Temperament and condition both excellent.
